SPLASH! is the clubhouse
It is the community around The VIBE Experiment — where the wider community helps the mission along, and where parents who walk a season will one day train as guides for other families.
No gurus, no gatekeepers. We are figuring this out together, and we would rather say so plainly than pretend we have it worked out.
What SPLASH! exists to support
The VIBE Experiment
Ten weeks. Four pillars. Side by side.
A community experiment in raising steady kids. Parents and young people build four things over a school term's worth of weeks — one conversation a week, shoulder to shoulder on a walk or a drive, and one small real-world challenge that the parent does a version of too.
Purpose
Things that matter to you, so aimlessness doesn't eat you.
Identity
Knowing who you are, so other people's opinions don't get to define you.
Belonging
People who genuinely know you and have your back.
Contribution
Being truly useful to others — the most reliable path to a life that feels worth living.
Family practice, not therapy
This is training, not treatment. No clinical claims, and plain signposting to professionals when that is what a family needs.
Patterns, never people
Weekly field notes share what worked and what flopped across the whole cohort. No family's story gets published.
The young person holds a veto
Nothing about them is shared without their okay. It is a standing rule, and it never needs justifying.
A season does not run inside SPLASH!. It runs on email, a form and video calls — deliberately, because the experiment must never be waiting on software. The whole plan is public before you decide anything.
Walk it with usThe Legacy Pool
Pools, not forums. A small number of real requests, sitting where someone who knows something can find them.
Families using the MyStories FOREVER Vault post the mysteries in their own history: an unexplained photograph, a regiment nobody can place, a documentary that was never found. The community helps investigate.
This is the working prototype of the pattern we want more of — small, real requests for help that a community can answer without needing to be large. Two good answers to one mystery is a result.
Who tends to be useful
You do not need credentials to help. Often the useful thing is simply knowing which archive to try.
What it looks like in practice
The story they have, the questions they cannot answer, and what they are hoping someone knows.
Records, context, dead ends ruled out. A pointer to the right archive counts as help.
Whatever is found is kept where it belongs — in the family's own vault.
Specialists may eventually run paid sessions through SPLASH!, once there is enough demand to make that worth anyone's time. Not yet, and we will not pretend otherwise.
What we are building next
Both of these are earned, not scheduled. Neither is open yet, and we would rather tell you that than put up a button that does not do anything.
The First Contribution Pool
Small, real needs posted by community members and local organisations — the kind of thing a young person's weekly contribution challenge could genuinely serve.
Always parent-mediated. There is no direct channel between an organisation and a young person, and there won't be one.

The guild hall for guides
Parents who finish a season are the people best placed to walk alongside the next family. SPLASH! is where that craft will be learned, shared and supported.
Hosting a circle, weaving a conversation, holding space for a room that is doing the work itself — those are real skills, and they take practice.

Where we actually are
We are at the beginning. There are no thousands of members, no bustling chat rooms, no endless threads. Saying otherwise would be the easiest thing in the world and also the least useful.
The mission comes first. The VIBE Experiment's first season runs on deliberately boring tools, and what SPLASH! becomes afterwards depends entirely on what that season teaches us. We are not going to build a clubhouse full of rooms nobody asked for.
What is real today is the Legacy Pool: actual families, actual questions, and a genuine need for people who know things. If you would like to be useful right now, that is the door.
Start with the mission
If you have a young person between about eleven and sixteen, the season is the thing to read about. If you would rather help from the sidelines, the Legacy Pool is open and we will keep you posted about the rest.
